RELATED PROJECTS

-          Senior Design Project:  My team designed a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for a scientific information system. The project consisted of three phases: the front end (controls, menus, etc.), the back end (programming), and the data logic models (model showing data flow between the back end and the front end). This scientific information system was a project for all engineering research centers, more specifically Johns Hopkins University and Morgan State University. It captured the data from research posters and stored it electronically allowing for a massive database with poster data, assisted by audio and video media types. There was a conceptual model created to use as a blueprint for the actual GUI. My role in this project was to create the conceptual models for the front end and the data logic elements of the project. This was completed using the Enterprise Architect software which serves as a tool for effectively constructing UML models. Some of the different types of models I used were use case diagrams, class diagrams, and sequence diagrams.  By completing this aspect of the model, it gave the programmer on the team a better understanding of what was expected of the systems functionality.
-          Using a systems engineering approach, agile development life cycle, I helped to design the prototype for an informational database for the National Science Foundation.  An Enterprise Architect Model was created which housed all the use case analysis and class models needed to program this database if the programming element of the project was implemented.
-          I worked on the 747-8 Facility Layout for General Electric.  This included researching all elements of the 747-8 aircraft, studying the process for building this aircraft, and also studying the flow of these processes so that necessary precautions would be taken to have the most efficient workspace. The layout was created using MS Visio and implemented in August 2008.
